There are a lot of reproductions of Hultsrand from the Library of Congress; however, they're all owned by North Dakota State University who use those non-commercial use liscences. ~~Shiri — Talk~~ 01:28, Jun 19, 2005 (UTC)

Fair Use[edit]

I believe including the original Hultstrand photo is fair use on several basis. The North Dakota State University web page it is displayed on is not copyrighted, it was originally made over 100 years ago, and it was used in a US Stamp. -- Andy 10:26, Jun 19, 2005 (US CDT)

Errata[edit]

This article claims that, "In 1905, Hultstrand witnessed his neighbor developing negatives in the basement of his home and was fascinated," implying that it was his first exposure to photography. The accompanying photo of the sod house claims to be from 1898 (Hultstrand would have been 10).

The phrasing of, "In 1909, he paid a photographer in Milton, North Dakota named John McCarthy to be his apprentice," has contradictory pronouns. I'm sure he paid to be John McCarthy's apprentice, not the other way around.

I believe that the photo was merely in Hultstrand's collection and he was not the author of it...which means that I need to straighten that out on DYK. ~~Shiri — Talk~~ 00:23, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC)
