ERRONEOUS ENTRY RE GADSDEN HOTEL[edit]

The Wikipedia entry re the Gadsden Hotel states that the stained glass windows are "AUTHENTIC TIFFANY". That is a myth. The windows were designed, constructed and installed by RALPH BAKER of El Paso, Texas after the fire of 1929.

i have completed research that conclusively and unequivocally proves the foregoing. And have written a double spaced 14 page article that contains the proof.

I need help in either correcting the erroneous entry or in having my manuscript published in Wikipedia, or both.

I guess I need help of an editor in achieving my goal. I offer the manuscript. Photos can be sent separately. I offer my manuscript to any editor who is interested in this very interesting story that debunks a myth of many decades.

I copy only a couple of paragraphs of the manuscript. The unequivocal proof is found in many publications of the times and they are quoted in the manuscript.

"But the creation of these wondrous windows has for many years been coupled with a grievous historical falsehood. These glorious pieces of art are described in the Hotel’s Website and in Wikipedia (and in every other publication that makes reference to them) as “AUTHENTIC TIFFANY WINDOWS.”

"BUT THEY ARE NOT TIFFANY WINDOWS. There is no documentation that Tiffany ever traveled into the great Sonoran Desert. These windows are some 2,000 rugged miles away from the shops of Tiffany in New York. The creation of the windows in the Gadsden Hotel had to be by someone who knew the desert in detail. They had to be created by an artist who could capture the color and the vegetation and the scenes and the ambience of the Sonoran Desert. AND THAT WAS NOT LOUIS COMFORT TIFFANY. His life and work was centered in the east. He was a highly acclaimed stained glass genius but he was also an unequaled promoter of his products. Tiffany is best known for his stained glass lampshades. Originals remain today one of the country’s most sought after treasures. One can only speculate as to why the Gadsden Hotel Stained Glass masterpieces became erroneously known as TIFFANY WINDOWS. That is a bald myth. The established facts are to the contrary.

"The creation of the Gadsden Hotel windows by Ralph Baker is known by his surviving descendants in El Paso, Texas, but the public at large has come to be deceived by the Tiffany myth. The genetics, family history, education, training, experience, the memories of his family and the large body of BAKER’S work and the notoriety and publications which his work attracted, prove that he was the artist who created and installed the Gadsden Hotel windows. Documents that evidence that Tiffany had anything to do with these windows cannot be found. The facts are conclusive that RALPH BAKER was the artist who created these Masterpieces. It is long past time that the erroneous and widely persistent myth that Tiffany created the Gadsden Hotel windows be exposed:"71.195.244.192 (talk) 22:42, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
