Founders lineage
[edit]The people who started GPG where, I believe, ex-Cavedog/Humongous Entertainment people, and not ex-Microsoft people.
- Okay, but do you have a source for this? — Frecklefoot | Talk 18:49, 2 October 2005 (UTC)
- I'll try to dig one up. I think perhaps confusion may have arisen due to the fact that early on, Microsoft was signed as the publisher for GPG's first game, Dungeon Siege. So, perhaps this kind of blended things in the mind, as it were. Dxco 20:18, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
- Postmortem: Gas Powered Games' Dungeon Siege
- http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20021218/kijanka_pfv.htm
- By Bartosz Kijanka (This guy is the "Vice President of Engineering" as described on the company website's team list, and was an engineer on Cavedog's Total Annihilation)
- Gamasutra
- December 18, 2002
- "A number of us who worked with Chris in the past, primarily on Total Annihilation, had similar passions, and it wasn't long before we found ourselves cozy once again in a closet office in Kirkland, Wash. We had just finished work on a successful RTS game ..."
- Great article, by the way. Most post mortems are borderline advertisement for companies. This one was pretty heartfelt and honest. Anyhoo, more generally, if you head to the Moby Games website and do a quick run down the list of people who shipped Dungeon Siege, you'll see Total Annihilation popping up in personal credits left and right. I changed the info. Thanks for sourcing it! Actually, I probably read that Post Mortem, I just don't remember the details. Was it the one for DungeonSiege? — Frecklefoot | Talk 16:40, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- Yep, that's the one. Dxco 17:25, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Hah! Just noticed what appears to be an anal MS employee, correctly changing "Mocrosoft Games Studio" to "Microsoft Game Studio". Awesome - that's got to irk those poor guys, considering how frequently people make that mistake (self included). Dxco 05:20, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Gas Powered Games Logo.gif
[edit]Image:Gas Powered Games Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Huge Fan
[edit]Just wanted to say, in case Gas Powered Games ever get's someone reading this. I'm a huge fan of Gas Powered Games and anxiously await future titles. The guys from Cavedog know what they're doing, their TA games including TA:K were the best RTS games of their Genre at the time, and TA:K still feels fresh after all these years. --67.132.247.158 (talk) 01:40, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
