Bawtry[edit]

This entry stated that George Morton was from Bawtry, Nottinghamshire. (I changed it to South Yorkshire.) Some sources put Bawtry in South Yorkshire instead of Nottinghamshire. I'm aware the boundaries in the area have been fungible, and I've seen it both ways, including this GENUKI entry saying Bawtry is in Nottinghamshire [1], and wikipedia's own entry, which says it's in the southernmost tip of South Yorkshire. Does anyone know which one is correct? Thanks. MarmadukePercy (talk) 03:21, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bawtry since 1974 has been in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster which is in South Yorkshire. I think it was complicated before that as it was in the West Riding of Yorkshire but it was in the parish of Blyth (Genuki has it as Blythe) which was classed as a Nottinghamshire parish.
