Good sources of information on this light[edit]

http://www.nps.gov/history/maritime/nhl/grossept.htm Terras, Donald J., "Grosse Point Light Station Study", National Historic Landmark, 1999 and http://www.terrypepper.com/lights/michigan/grossepoint/grossepoint.htm Terry Pepper, Seeing the Light, Grosse Point Light. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 13:10, 16 May 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]

I added a bunch of external links that would all qualify as worthwhile sources, for those of you who have an urge to edit and want to use on line sources. The books would be great, of course. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 13:31, 17 July 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]
Which have good info on the architecture and design? What about the light itself? Just so I can be lazy and not go through them all, of course. Thanks. --IvoShandor (talk) 05:27, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On the optics generally, take a look at the Illlumination section of Terry Pepper generally. On the architecture, you have a lot of good on line sources (NHP study, e.g.) and I would concentrate on Orland M. Poe, who designed it. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 13:27, 25 September 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]

Clarify[edit]

In the lead, "...it is on the state list since 1975". Aside from the bad grammar (easy fix), what state list? --IvoShandor (talk) 05:22, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the NHS Inventory. There is no substitute for clicking on the links and looking at them. Whole lot of info that is just a click away. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 13:25, 25 September 2008 (UTC) Stan[reply]
The implication though, is that it is on a register maintained by the state of Illinois, not on the National Historic Landmark list, or NRHP. I'm just curious where this comes from as I know of no state run historic register in Illinois.--IvoShandor (talk) 11:25, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah well, looks to have been fixed anyway. I'm not an idiot btw, so the tone of your comment implying that perhaps I am was inappropriate. kthxbye.--IvoShandor (talk) 11:27, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Empty subsections[edit]

I was going to fill out those empty subsections, I figured someone else might want to before I got to them though, the NHL ref is pretty easy to sum up. I just thought they might spur someone to create the content. I was only trying to help, sorry if it made your list of Wikidiot behavior, or your day annoying. No bother, I'll add them back later, when I fill them in. --IvoShandor (talk) 13:11, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rowlett, Russ Lighthouse Director link[edit]

Rowlett, Russ, Indiana Lighthouses University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill doesn't work. But if you go to the list of lights at Rowlett, he has the page for the Indiana lights. It's a mystery to me.7&6=thirteen (talk) 12:01, 25 September 2009 (UTC) Stan[reply]

Correct link is {http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/lighthouse/in.htmhttp://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/lighthouse/in.htm Rowlett, Russ, Lighthouse Directory, Indiana ligthouses.] University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 19:33, 3 October 2009 (UTC) Stan[reply]
