death[edit]

I wish "Tenebrae" would explain why he doesn't believe that Sahle's family knows when he died, other than just removing it - and stating the cite wasnt a book sold by amazon. Steven R. (talk) 22:27, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sept. 7 edits[edit]

Aside from some general copy editing for grammar and WPC MOS, and line edits for flow, I've replaced a comic-book trading-card cite for a comic with a cite for the comic itself (Green Giant Comics). No need for "main article" links when we're bluelinking to those articles. There was no citation for Sahle having ghosted for Burgos; I thought we had a cite for his assisting Burgos, but I don't see it and need to track it down. One other very important thing: We can't include forum postings as a reference source, per WP:SPS. --Tenebrae (talk) 08:00, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:SPS allows for notable and known-knowledgeable individuals to be cited even by forum postings, as discussed. The citation for Sahle ghosting for Burgos is Gil Kane in Alter Ego: The CBA Collection; the source for him being Burgos' assistant is Spillane in A/E #11. (And the trading card citation was a technicality: it was used because the GCD doesn't credit the cover to Sahle, and I didn't notice that he did interior work in that issue as well as the cover. Plus, I was intrigued at the inclusion of Sahle in a trading card set, presumably fully credited.) ntnon (talk) 03:04, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All cool with Kane; I just didn't see that point specifically footnoted is all. I'll re-add. The Comic Book Database listing of Sahle as Green Giant cover artist should verify that credit OK without our needing the trading-card cite as well — although you might consider listing that cover under "Reprints", with the checklist cite, since a modern-day trading card is unusual for a cover of that period that doesn't feature a major character. --Tenebrae (talk) 03:41, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
