Two Helen Gilmores?[edit]

This article (and the IMDB entry it now references) may be confusing two different actresses named Helen Gilmore:

  1. Helen Gilmore (January 4, 1862, Washington, DC - November 16, 1936 Los Angeles, CA), born Antoinette Field, http://www.a2zpeople.com/about.asp?nm=Gilmore,%20Helen
  2. Helen Gilmore (1900 - October 8, 1947, New York, NY)

Helen #2 (the apparent subject of this article) seems rather too young to play some of the roles attributed to her at IMDB, e.g., a mother-in-law at 14, an aunt at 15, and an old maid at 16. Sadly, it may not be easy to disentangle the two without high-quality sources. Hqb 19:23, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • the a2zpeople link seems to be part of her IMDB entry. Both agree on her DOB being in 1862, but both have a different date of death. I conclude that there is only one (notable) actress with this name and their data has become confused/combined. I'm going to be bold and change the DOB on the article, and remove the tag. • Sorry, I'm reverting this. Changing the birth date of Helen the Magazine Editor to 1862 directly contradicts the 1947 NYT obituary (which says that she died at 47), not to mention that it would be rather unusual for someone to be newly appointed as a magazine editor at the age of 76. Various book snippets also explicitly warn against confusing the 1862-1936 Helen with the 1900-1947 one. Hqb 19:04, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
