Tone[edit]

This article sounds like a brochure for the school. It needs a pretty significant cleanup with third-party sources added. Toddst1 (talk) 15:43, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Status as Segregation Academy[edit]

Someone associated with the school is attempting to whitewash its status as a segregation academy. The fact is supported by reliable sources and should remain part of the article.

edit warring in order to remove content you disapprove of is not acceptable, nor is Wikipedia to be censored. Lbishop1321, please address any issues you might have on the article talk page, or the user talk page of an involved user, rather than trying to force a view on the article via edit warring. That is disruptive.Jacona (talk) 19:51, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The current version is a whitewash, but I'm holding off on reverting for now per the 3 revert rule --Billhpike (talk) 20:04, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree totally, Billhpike. Thanks! Jacona (talk) 20:25, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • How about this as a compromise: Any school for which there are reliable sources describing it as a segregation academy gets the sentence, "xxx was established as a segregation academy in 19xx," in the History section. Many of these school have substantial current stories. There is no reason that segregation academy needs to appear in the lede, which also shows up in the Google box after a search. By the same token, use of a pipe in the wikilink to change segregation academy to a euphemism should also be discouraged. Rhadow (talk) 15:00, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
