William Windham[edit]

Identified currently as Sir William Wyndham, 3rd Baronet. The medal can be seen here, [1], inscribed Gulielmus Windham Armiger, so definitely "Sir" William Windham/Wyndham (18th century spelling is not fixed).

The 3rd Baronet, died 1740, was a Whig politician. There are various other William Windham/Wyndham possibilities. The profile view on the medal may be the person in the oil painting and engraving of the 3rd Baronet: not so easy to tell. Charles Matthews (talk) 08:48, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's wrong: "armiger" = Esquire, would apply to any gentleman. Charles Matthews (talk) 17:59, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Antoine Dassier[edit]

Several medals of the notable britons series were not made by Jacques-Antoine Dassier, but rather by his lesser known brother Antoine Dassier (1718-1780). Antoine Dassier worked for the family atelier and produced very few medals on his own. (Source: Eisler 2002, page 8.) 77.73.246.137 (talk) 12:53, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
