July 5 2017 Appearance on CNN New Day with Chris Cuomo[edit]

I believe this appearance was a first. He defended Trump's voter fraud efforts and his state is one of the few to comply.

Whitewashing on voter fraud claims[edit]

A sizable portion of the body is dedicated to this man's promotion of stricter voter ID laws, as well as his false claims that voter fraud is rampant. The lede should note that he has made false claims about voter fraud. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 18:05, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The lead says "As Secretary of State, Ashcroft has pushed for stricter voter ID laws". There was no need for the word "forcefully" to be in there, nor the line "He has made false claims about the extent of voter fraud" which multiple people removed and you kept putting back in. Also do any reliable sources specifically say he made false claims, or just state there is no evidence to support his claims? Dream Focus 18:28, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stating things without evidence as fact is to make false statements. But I would not mind changing "false" to "unsubstantiated" or some other variation of "evidence-free". Snooganssnoogans (talk) 18:36, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
