Khalid Bazzi in Hebrew?[edit]

I have tried to find something written in Israel - in English or Hebrew - about Khalid Bazzi but have not succeeded in doing so. Which I find really strange. During the 2006 war Israel claimed to have killed several "top-ranking" Hezbollah leaders, most of whom appeared to be alive and well after the war or being doubtful whether they ever existed in the first place.

But Khalid Bazzi was real and he was involved in the abduction of the two soldiers and he was killed by the IDF.

If somebody can direct me to anything from Israel about him - חאלד בזי, I guess, in Hebrew - I would be grateful.

The problem is, I think, that this guy's not particularly notable. Most of the references you used for this article don;t mention him at all, and are used to support general statements about Hizbollah or about Israeli actions. The only two references that actually refer to him come from dubious sources - I don't think bintjbeil.org is a reliable, not sure about the other one. The main sources I use are two Lebanese newspaper articles about Bazzi's life, published about a year after his death. They are al-Akhbar and As-Safir. Both of them are established and well-known for anybody with the slightest interest in Lebanese politics. They are both secular "left-wing", meaning that they support Hezbollah's resistance against Israel but do not support its general center-right policies in Lebanon. The original link to the al-Akhbar article is dead but it is reproduced at bintjbeil.org (and elsewhere), a website maintained by the Municipality of Bint Jbeil.
There are loads of information about Bazzi in Hezbollah information outlets but I didn't find it necessary to use them.
The other sources are used for complimentary information. al-Akhbar for example mentions that Bazzi took part in the famous Bra'shit outpost operation or the assassination of SLA commander Aql Hashim, but gives no details. The Lebanese reader is supposed to know all this. But that is hardly the case with the regular English Wikipedia reader. That's why I filled in the blanks with other sources.
As I explain in the article, you will not find a single article about a Hezbollah commander called Khalid Bazzi before 2006. At least not in Lebanon. I'm sure that the Israelis knew about him long before that. Maybe somebody in Israel has written about him, if for no other reason that he was involved with the kidnappings of the soldiers.
On notability. In Israel there seems to be more or less a consensus (from Olmert and Halutz and down) that the 2006 war was a failure and that this was because it was allowed to drag on so long. This in turn was caused by the high casualties and lack of any tangible results in the battles of Maroun ar-Ras and Bint Jbeil, which forced the Israelis to continue the war. Bazzi and his men where at the center of all this. They caused the IDF failure by their stubborn resistance.
