Land Tawney is public figure who has over 350 news hits when his name is searched.

Land has been cited in major news outlets such as the New York Times, the Hill, the Albuquerque Journal, the Great Falls Tribune, the Missoulian, High Country News, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and the Daily Caller, to name a few.

Land Tawney is the author of columns and gives regular interviews to the press.

He works to influence policy and is even the president of the Montana Hunters and Anglers political action committee which has raised and spent over a million dollars in election years.

He is the executive director of backcountry hunters and anglers which is a very public organization with a website and over 10,000 members. They have chapters in 22 states.

Clearly, Land Tawney is a recognizable public figure who fully meets wikipedia's notability requirements.
