Untitled[edit]

I have removed the Prod notice. Prof. Baxter clearly passes WP:PROF. One of the criteria is "The person is regarded as an important figure by those in the same field", and thae fact that his university established an annual lecture in his memory and that eminent statisticians have delivered the lecture is ample proof that he meets this.--Runcorn 17:37, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note for future: the above is/was a sock-puppet of a relative of the subject. FT2 (Talk | email) 07:36, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of prior versions in preparation for AFD[edit]

Previous versions of this article have been deleted because of BLP concerns relating to others who are mentioned in these prior versions. The primary author of this article is known to have added fake or otherwise unverifiable information into multiple articles, and some of this unverifiable information has also been removed.

  • Could not find independent verification of his contributions to the Encyclopedia of Statistical Sciences, which does exist. Baxter is not listed as a contributor on the publisher's website, and Google search revealed only mirrors of this page. (Note—the article for that publication is created by the same editor as this article.)
  • Only mention of the book series Stochastic Modeling is in mirrors of this page.
  • The suggestion that he was a fellow of the British Film Institute is contradicted by the BFI’s list of fellows.[1]
  • The only reference source in the article is the link to the registration page for the 2008 memorial lecture. None were removed.

Related (sort of question)....the stub markers refer to the person as being a UK or Brittish person, however he appears to have been born in New York and worked mostly in New York. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 14:54, 8 September 2008 (UTC) never mind....to early yet to read properly. There are a number of categories assigned however that don't appear to be discussed in the text. --Rocksanddirt (talk) 14:58, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This page contains a fair amount of information, but would it be considered reliable? George The Dragon (talk) 12:08, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cause of death is needed too, especially as he died so young and was not in a dangerous profession.--MartinUK (talk) 11:12, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
