Episode notability[edit]

Many or all of the existing individual episode pages for this series appear to fail the notability guidelines for television episodes, and have been tagged accordingly. These articles can be improved through the inclusion of real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. Overly long plot summaries should be edited, to a maximum length of approximately ten words per minute of screen time. Trivia should be integrated into the body of the article, or removed if it is not directly relevant. Quotes and images should only be used as part of a critical analysis of the episode. You might also consider merging any notable information onto the show's "List of episodes" or season pages. Otherwise, when these pages come up for review in fourteen days, they may be redirected, merged or deleted. If you want any help or further information, then come to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television/Episode coverage. Thanks. Gwinva 16:28, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Season 2 original air dates[edit]

The Season 2 original air dates are in dispute in the fandom. I had originally gathered the original air dates for some episodes from visitors to my website, The Unofficial Captain N Home Page. These were either given outright, or the contributors would mention which Super Mario Bros. 3 cartoons that they recalled the Captain N episodes being paired with, and I'd determine the original air dates by checking a Mario 3 episode guide. I added these dates to my episode guide:

14 Gameboy Original air date: September 8, 1990

No episode listed for September 15, 1990

?? Queen of the Apes Original air date: September 22, 1990

?? Quest For the Potion of Power Original air date: September 29, 1990

No episode listed for October 6, 1990

?? The Trouble With Tetris Original air date: October 13, 1990

?? The Big Game Original air date: October 20, 1990

No episode listed for October 27, 1990

No episode listed for November 3, 1990

?? The Lost City of Kongoland Original air date: November 10, 1990

?? Once Upon a Time Machine Original air date: November 17, 1990

?? The Feud of Faxanadu Original air date: November 24, 1990

I had no original air dates for the remaining Season 2 episodes, so I arbitralily placed them after the others but before "When Mother Brain Rules" (for which I had been given a date):

?? Having a Ball Original air date: ?

?? The Trojan Dragon Original air date: ?

?? I Wish I Was A Wombatman Original air date: ?

?? The Invasion of the Paper Pedalers Original air date: ?

?? Germ Wars Original air date: ?

?? When Mother Brain Rules Original air date of version 1: January 5, 1991 Original air date of version 2: ?

At some point, TV.com's Captain N episode guide was updated/created to use my arbitrary Season 2 order, but it also added supposed original air dates for those 5 last episodes (merely spacing them 1 week apart from each other).

The Shout! Factory claims that it got the true original air dates out of boxes from DiC's archives. Amazingly, these dates reflect TV.com's exactly.

As I said, TV.com used my arbitrary order and took it upon itself to assign dates for those last 5 episodes.

I feel that this controversy should be mentioned somewhere in this article or in the main Captain N article.

Wrong order[edit]

THe guide seems to go by the TV.com air dates. As Tuxedomark said, those are horribly in-accurate. Just because the list is supported by the DVD release doesn't mean it's accurate. On numerous sites, plus the tapes I have of nearly every episode from NBC 1989-1991, this is how it SHOULD go:
Season 1 ( 1989)
Sept. 9, 1989-Kevin in Video-Land
Sept. 16 1989-How's Bayou
Sept. 23 1989-Mr. and Mrs. Mother-Brain

Nov. 11 1989-Metroid Sweet Metroid
Nov. 18 1989-Wishful Thinking
Nov. 25 1989- In Search of the King
Dec. 2 1989- Happy Birthday, Mega-Man!
Season 2 (1990-1991)

Episodes that were aired (but not collected)[edit]

Hey, I don't really know where to talk about this, but I HAVE the Season Two, Episode 14 tapped on VHS! It's the one with music (but no voices/most narration), but I'm gonna rip it and upload the video as soon as I can because....for the LONGEST time, I thought the Network screwed up somehow (my kid-brain thought they just....didn't click on the audio-channels, I guess). I gotta share this, y'know? It's haunted me for YEARS. WHY DID THEY DO THIS. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:A601:ADD3:2F00:7500:22A:9DEC:BA2E (talk) 00:38, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
