I tried to put down the consulates of each country that are present in other cities, but it doesn't quite work out. There are almost 1,200 consulates in the US and the list just looks like endless words on the page. I think its better just to leave the links to the available references rather than filling this page up with a 1,200-item list. epicAdam (talk) 06:54, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
An IP user removed the following claim: "Due to its traditional population of European immigrants, it has consulate-generals from 22 European countries." After reverting, User:Purplebackpack89 added a reference showing the reported ancestry of Chicago residents in the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey. The source does not, however, say that many European countries have consulates in Chicago because of the high number of immigrants from those countries. To say otherwise would be a logical fallacy. If Purplebackpack89 can find a source that says specifically that many European countries have consulates in Chicago because of the high number of European migrants, then fine; otherwise, the citation fails WP:V. In addition the citation fails because the figures are for ancestry, and the contention was explicitly about _immigrants_. It also fails to show that Chicago's population is anymore traditional than anywhere else. Finally a close look at the figures shows that Chicago's Danish population is really small. 188.8.131.52 (talk) 13:25, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
moved Libya to not full diplomatic relations based on CNN report: "The Libyan government said Aujali no longer represents Libya and named the charge d'affaires as ambassador. The United States, however, has refused to recognize the newly-named ambassador."Slowking4 (talk) 17:43, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
An update: The U.S. has granted official accreditation to the new NTC ambassador from Libya, who has reopened the Libyan embassy on Virginia Avenue. Best, epicAdam(talk) 15:06, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
