Survivor[edit]

Simpsons[edit]

The Simpsons should also be listed as "Longest-running prime time entertainment program with a consistent setting and recurring characters", not just "longest animation"

Why is "The David Letterman Show" not on the list? On the air in 1982 on NBC and then moved to CBS.

Differentiating types of shows[edit]

The article implies that there are 54 tv series that are running for 10 or more seasons. Talk shows, movies, anthologies, news programs, vaudeville acts.

With regard to this subject, I think it's most important that we distinguish 60-minute dramas from 30-minute comedies. "The Simpsons" is the longest-running scripted comedy, ever, with 26 seasons. The article should have a separate list for this. "Two and a Half Men" would be in second place, with 12 seasons, while "M*A*S*H," "Cheers" and "Frasier" would tie for third place, with 11 seasons each. And of course, if we're talking live-action, "The Simpsons" wouldn't be on the list. But I'm not going anywhere near that argument. I never watched "The Simpsons," but have at it. In the minds of most people there are 7 "scripted series (of which 3 are animated) that are presently at 10 seasons or more. The article should be re-arranged to highlight this scripted series with core sets of characters. (1) Law & Order: SVU (2) CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (3) NCIS (4) Two and a Half Men

I wanted to find more information about The Adventures in School, because, according to this article, it is the longest scripted primetime television series, but there is nothing about that show on the internet. Seasons vs. years[edit]

To be fair, this article should list series by number of years, not number of seasons. It is misleading to rank shows like "Survivor" as high as they are considering they have two (or more) seasons per year. The number of seasons can still be included, but not as the primary criteria. Scripted television series[edit]

Why are scripted TV shows broken out in a separate header even though they are included in the earlier sections? Also, why is this section broken out by "10–11 seasons" and "12 seasons and up"? AldezD (talk) 15:12, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Murphy Brown Revival Cancelled[edit]

Live from the Met & Mystery[edit]

Both Live from the Met and Mystery are listed as having 26 seasons, yet have been placed in the 30-49 seasons table. Either their season count is wrong or they're in the wrong place.
