Note: this represents where the article stands relative to the Good Article criteria. Criteria marked are unassessed

Infobox and lede[edit]

  • I believe "Low" in "also nicknamed Low" should be boldface, per MOS:BOLDSYN
  • Strike "developed as the centerpiece of the university's Morningside Heights campus" in the second paragraph, as this is explained far better in the third
    • minus Removed, though I have added a better description of where it is. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Greek cross should be linked up here in addition to its body link
  • Should "exterior" and "interior" be capitalized in the Designated NYCL parameter?

Site[edit]

  • A lot of repetition of Morningside Heights; while there are additional campuses (usually for graduate schools), I think it's generally understood that this is the "main" campus
    •  Done I've trimmed the mention of the name "Morningside Heights". It's mostly used because there's a campus in neighboring Manhattanville. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Steps[edit]

  • No comma needed after "The flight itself has an intermediate landing"
  • Although not strictly falling under MOS:CAPCONTEXT, at no point are "protests" mentioned in the prose about the Steps, but they are in the associated caption (Edit: protests are mentioned as taking place in the library, but not specifically on the steps)
    •  Done I replaced "protests" with "other events", which is a catch-all that does cover what's in the prose. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Design[edit]

Form[edit]

  • The "however" sets up a comparison not fully realized. Try "Unlike these other libraries"
  • Is there a reason the inch conversions go to millimeters instead of centimeters?
    • This is a default function of {{convert}} when no "unit to convert to" has been specified. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Facade[edit]

  • Good

Features[edit]

  • Should be commas rather than semicolons for the sentence beginning "The first floor shared design influences"
  • Measuring 30 by 33 feet (9.1 by 10.1 m). Sentence fragment.
    •  Fixed Oops, I meant to combine this with the last sentence. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "more simple" → "simpler"
  • "the whole north wing" → "the entire north wing"

History[edit]

Development[edit]

  • "Later the same month" → "Later that month"
  • "which Ware agreed with" → "to which Ware agreed"
  • Switch the two clauses of the sentence beginning "Likely in part because of the uncertainties"

Library use[edit]

  • "where Seth Low stepped down as president" → "during which Seth Low announced his resignation"
  • The information in the caption of the photo c. 1897 needs a citation
    • minus Removed I definitely did not add that. While the info is almost definitely cited somewhere, it's not really relevant here. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • "and 310,000 bound volumes" → "as well as 310,000 bound volumes"
  • Comma after "who had replaced Seth Low as university president"

Administrative offices[edit]

  • Good

Critical reception[edit]

  • "intended to not only symbolize" → "intended not only to symbolize"
  • "but also serve" → "but also to serve"
  • Do we know which "Rumpf" this might refer to?
    • I have no idea who this may be. The original text only mentions an "M. Rumpf", who either doesn't have an article or isn't listed on the Rumpf page. Epicgenius (talk) 17:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Awkward extra space in the Schuyler quote
  • The part about Eisenhower seems tangential – source says that the bicentennial was really the reason behind the stamp, and Eisenhower was just mentioned because he might be speaking

References[edit]

General comments[edit]

  • All photos are properly licensed and are relevant to the article
  • No stability concerns in the revision history
  • Earwig score looks good at 20.0%

Mostly minor things, as usual. Let me know if there are any questions! — GhostRiver 17:32, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
