Personal facts[edit]

This biography requires more personal data; ie. date of birth, marital status, area of residence, etc. to create a good introductory paragraph. --Stormbay (talk) 14:55, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stormbay, could you please point me to the relevant guidelines which would specify these things? Thanks!--76.69.101.88 (talk) 19:20, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There must be a biography somewhere that gives that info. If there is, it would strengthen the biography aspect of this article. Right now, we know quite a bit about the writings themselves and not so much about the author. Since the author is the main subject of the piece, it would be appropriate. However, maybe its not available. Cheers! --Stormbay (talk) 22:09, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any guideline supporting your recommendation for more emphasis on private versus public facts of a contemporary biography. Indeed, the guidelines state a preference for the "presumption of privacy" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:BLP#Presumption_in_favor_of_privacy). A writer is her work, no? Isn't anything else just the biographical fallacy?--BenJonson (talk) 13:22, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
