Vandalism
[edit]Deleted vandalism "In the Mathiasen Syndrome (named after famed keyliner Bill Mathiasen) instance, splint must be worn for up to a year. In addition the Mathiasen version causes intense bouts of self pity, the inability to shoot a basketball and general whininess." Shaun3001 (talk) 14:41, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
No reference for Mathiasen Syndrome, deleted. Shaun3001 (talk) 17:34, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Hereditary????
[edit]I deleted the passage stating that mallet finger may be hereditary, it was not supported by any of the citations listed, I could not find anything to support it, I have never heard of it and finally that it makes no sense as the condition is a result of tendon injury. Citations supporting it would be welcome however. Shaun3001 (talk) 00:52, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Perhaps there has just been some confusion. I have met quite a few people who seem to have "mallet fingers" for all ten of their fingers. However, they were not injured at all. It's just that they were unable to completely straighten their fingers. I've also seen it occur in siblings, so it's probably hereditary. Is there a name for the hereditary natural "mallet finger"-like appearance of fingers? 24.192.138.13 (talk) 17:22, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Ahh nevermind! I've just found it. Swan neck deformity somewhat resembles mallet finger, but it is slightly different and can be hereditary. 24.192.138.13 (talk) 17:33, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Bone fracture
[edit]As shown in the first image of the gallery, there may be a fracture of the bone instead of damage to the tendon itself. Maybe this should be made clearer in the text? Martinevans123 (talk) 21:42, 23 July 2014 (UTC)
