Needs a geology expert[edit]

This page really needs a geology expert to rewrite it. It's too short, and full of grammatical errors as well. Arkannis (talk) 21:20, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title and alternative spellings[edit]

Although Malpaís is technically correct linguistically, English usage would generally omit the acute accent on the i. Such accents, though once common in words like rôle (role), and cañon (canyon), are uncommon now. In the southwest United States, the spelling malapi was often seen. Automobile Club of Southern California maps used this spelling, for instance. - Parsa (talk) 20:52, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit]

"The literal translation of malpaís is 'badland.'" that would be a free translation, the "literal" translation would be bad (mal) country (país). Badlands in Spanish are known as "Tierras malas" or "Tierras yermas" (yerma=barren, waste) 45.182.127.185 (talk) 05:23, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
