Replaced standard hatnote on page

Somehow, the hatnote message showing the link to Manhattan Christian College was removed at the top of the page. This is standard in Wikipedia for assisting with searches.--Paul McDonald (talk) 15:16, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

The two schools names, whikemsimilar, as different enough, the Kansas school containing an entire eladditional word in the middle, that I don't think the hatnotes are needed. oknazevad (talk) 16:09, 18 August 2019 (UTC)
I disagree; only differing by one word makes it more likely that there might be some confusion. The hatnote is small and may be helpful for some readers. ElKevbo (talk) 16:48, 18 August 2019 (UTC)

Manhattan College Logo and Jaspers Logo Out of Date

The Manhattan College Logo and Jaspers Athletics Logo are out of date after the university re-branded earlier in 2011. Their logos are available online, fair use clearance can be garnered at request as I am a representative of the college. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KKing1710 (talkcontribs) 21:43, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Dennis Day.jpg

The image Image:Dennis Day.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check.

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Thomas Gavin removed

I have twice removed "Thomas Gavin - aka Bacon, the first man to travel the world via surf board." from notable alumni. The first time, I assumed vandalism and simply did an undo. The second time, I did a quick google search and found no reference to anyone "traveling the world via surf board" nor any connection of "Thomas Gavin", "Bacon", and "surf" -- if this is indeed a real event, please provide references.--Paul McDonald (talk) 19:58, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

There seems to be a large amount of vandalism coming from the user on this topic. I do not know how to best handle that, but the edit has been reversed three times.--Paul McDonald (talk) 21:04, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Train times

What's going on with the quote about the 1 train taking 20-30 minutes to get to midtown? It actually takes the 1 train 30 minutes to get to 59th st and 40 minutes to get to 42nd st. Shouldn't the 20-30 minutes quote be changed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.124.240.17 (talkcontribs) 04:11, 18 June 2007 (UTC).

Fair use rationale for Image:Manjasplogo.gif

Image:Manjasplogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:28, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Academics

I (slightly) elaborated on RLC/Leo and moved that paragraph above the one describing Draddy. That way, we 1) keep academic descriptions together and 2) emphasize the importance of acadmics over atheltics (as it should be). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.112.50.118 (talk) 21:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

It's ridiculous to have the bulk of MC's entry be about athletics. It is a school of higher learning, best known for it's engineering; why not write that? Its athletics are secondary, and piss poor to boot. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.112.50.160 (talkcontribs) 05:47, 10 May 2007 (UTC).

I agree with the above statement. MC has a longstanding reputation as a fine engineering school. I have a problem with some of the "notable" sports alumni. Many are hardly "notable." Should be thoroughly "cleaned up."--24.189.35.249 (talk) 21:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

MANHATTAN COLLEGE IS 8TH IN THE NATION FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING! Why has no one mentioned that?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.99.5 (talk) 12:39, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
