Turret[edit]

Anyone know what turret it will have? Stryker 50, or maybe a 25mm Bushmaster like the LAV? (USMCMIDN (talk) 15:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Well, it looks like they won't release the Request for Proposal (RFP) until sometime in 2011. (Note: This is the process that the GCV program is currently trying to start.) If and when they finally release the RFP, then we'll know if they want just a .50 cal, or something heavier. This will also apply to your armor question, below. However, I personally doubt that they'll ask for that much armor, because the Marines will probably want it amphibious. While that much armor may not seem like a lot, it will reduce whatever else you could put on a vehicle.Vstr (talk) 21:11, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Armor Protection[edit]

Anyone know if it will stop 30mm AP? (USMCMIDN (talk) 15:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC))[reply]

http://www.scribd.com/doc/97267914/MPCAnnexA The MPC shall provide protection for the occupants from the blasts, fragments and incapacitating acceleration effects of attack from kinetic threats, indirect fire, improvised explosive devices and mines to meet the threshold threat requirements identified in Classified Annex.

So the answers are of course heck no. Which 30mm gun? And if we told you then we'd have to shoot you with 30mm AP. Hcobb (talk) 16:11, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's dead, Jim.[edit]

Seems like tea leaf reading by one flak so far. Anybody got a better ref? Hcobb (talk) 16:14, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's alive, it's alive. Still trying to make sense of this... http://breakingdefense.com/2014/02/marines-budget-scramble-commandant-resurrects-mpc-acv-in-limbo/ Hcobb (talk) 05:20, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Superav[edit]

The BAE/Iveco Superav is a competing vehicle in the MPC program. But for some reason, if Superav is linked, it redirects to the Marine personnel Carrier article. The Superav does not have its own page, but it should not be linked directly to this page. How can the redirect be changed? America789 (talk) 18:56, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, has other customers. Making a minimal page. Hcobb (talk) 23:27, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
