Direct ancestor of Katharine Hepburn?[edit]

The article refers to Bothwell as a direct ancestor of Katharine Hepburn, but this is highly unlikely. Although a few websites and books repeat the claim, there is no serious historical evidence for it. In fact, Bothwell is known to have had only one (illegitimate) child - William, the son of Anna Throndsen - and nothing is known of what happened to him.[1][2] Mike Marchmont (talk) 12:21, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

On reflection, I decided to delete the statement (that Bothwell was an ancestor of Katharine Hepburn). It is an implausible claim without any reliable evidence. But even if it was true, it wouldn't belong in a section of the article that deals with inaccuracies in the film. If anything, it should be in an article on Katharine Hepburn herself.
If any editor disagrees with the above, feel free to reinstate my deletion. But, if you do, please provide a reliable citation. Mike Marchmont (talk) 14:11, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
