Additional sources to consider[edit]

The article could use some more secondary material. Various news reports on the Melbourne Metro appeared in December 2008 (search). These reports generally mention a first phase between Footscray and Domain, apparently a bit longer than South Kensington and Domain. PTUA made some critical statments on the tunnel in May 2009. Proposed Merger[edit]

Opposed- It has been proposed to merge the Arden railway station, Melbourne article with this article, however there is enough content about the proposed station and surrounding precinct to warrant retention of the separate article. Additionally, proposed station articles are relatively common on Wikipedia as they relate to future infrastructure plans and construction activity. I believe the articles should remain separate to update known specifics on the station itself, as opposed to the more general Melbourne Metro Rail Project which covers the project and railway line, but not each station in granular detail. 110.140.96.203 (talk) 10:53, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Construction Progress and Metro 2[edit]

It would be useful to add a Construction Progress section for periodic updates, e.g. tunnelling at %, City Hall station U/C, Overall project progress at X% as of X date, etc. This helps to see the progress of the project over time.

Also, why is there not a Metro 2 section? Would a reference to Metro 2 plans not be suitable to add? Yappofloyd (talk) 19:20, 21 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No as there is a seperate article on that project. HoHo3143 (talk) 09:54, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

More graphics and photos[edit]

With construction ramping up, I think this article needs more attention. There's lots of great content but I think it needs more graphics and photos. I will try and add some from my own photos and from existing wikipedia photos. My question was about using maps and graphics put out by metro tunnel itself -- I noticed the London Crossrail page uses a route map taken from the Crossrail website, can we do the same with Metro tunnel maps or for station location maps? I feel like it might be better to just use construction photos rather than wrangling with trying to use copyrighted material - there's vantage points at most of the sites as it is which can illustrate their locations amidst surrounding landmarks.
