Anyone know of a good, inexpensive, nmea, usb, 'puck' style gps unit that works well with Streets and Trips 2006 other than the one that comes packaged with it?

The Holux GR-213 USB unit with the SirfStar III chipset works pretty nicely for me. Does anyone know if Streets & Trips 2008 is actually released? It's on their website, but I've yet to see it in a store or anything. Evilspoons 20:50, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The 'Microsoft AutoRoute reviews' link at the bottom of the article is broken. I would fix/remove it, but I'm not much of a Wikipedian, so I'll leave it to those who better know the rules. Scott Harden 20:20, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Huh?[edit]

"which is part of Windows Vista on Windows XP computers," - WTF does that mean? What exactly is a "Windows XP computer"? And why would it have Vista on it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.231.129.100 (talk) 04:07, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Microsoft AutoRoute should probably be merged into here as the two are essentially just different versions of the same software. This article includes much of the information from there and is generally more comprehensive, hence that's the direction I think the merge should go. Wiki articles on the Microsoft products "Streets and Trips" and "Autoroute" should definitely NOT be merged. I don't know about the UK, but in the US they are two VERY different products. Streets and Trips covers US. Autoroute covers Europe. They are NOT versions of the same software. The GUI look and feel, and the product releases and dates, for the two products are quite different, which is not surprising since they were originally developed separately by different developers. Streets was developed by Microsoft. Autoroute was originally developed in Europe and marketed as Route 66 in US. Microsoft bought out Route 66 and changed the name but didn't make much change in how the program operated. They just put a thin Microsoft wrapper on it and update and expand the map files to cover more of eastern Europe. Autoroute Euro is treated as a poor stepchild at Microsoft, with versions unpredictably released at two to three year intervals with little or no prior information available. Third-party sources such as Wiki are essential to getting information on Autoroute. Would not like to see Autoroute become a poor stepchild to Streets on Wiki also. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.197.174.18 (talk) 17:10, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It would be more appropriate to merge this article into the Autoroute one, after all, the product started out as Autoroute, before being re-branded as Microsoft Autoroute, and then Streets and Trips. Merging it into the article for the original software would make the timeline of the product development more linear, and factually accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.60.68.154 (talk) 22:52, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's been almost three years since this was suggested, can we make a decision on the merge? I vote to keep them separate. It seems like they were separate products, covering different places, and as such, deserve separate articles. - Paul2520 (talk) 02:26, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Given the consensus in 2016 ... I've removed the merge tag. Klbrain (talk) 21:49, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The template doesn't link to this article thus is irrelevant and should be deleted, if no one will give me a counter argument in a week I will delete it from this article. --Lumia930uploader (talk) 11:16, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
