Errors[edit]

The information in the paragraph immediately below, concerning the Midland Jr. C Centennials, is not correct. The Centennials came into existence before the Midland Athletics intermediates, launching their inaugural season in 1978-79. The Cents continued junior hockey in Midland, following the demise of the Mid-Ontario Jr. B League (in 1978), which featured the Midland Flyers, who, with the destruction by fire of their home rink, the Midland Arena Gardens, in July 1976, finished out the franchise's history as the Penetang-Midland Flyers. The Cents' name was influenced by the town of Midland celebrating its Centennial Year, and the opening of the Midland Centennial Arena, also in 1978. -anon contributer
