Fry and Laurie[edit]

"We'd need a source, but …"

Paul, the Robbie Coltrane character, was once the more famous and successful of the comedy duo in the early 90s. In 2016 he is popular ("a national treasure"), but ekes out a living (OK, he would probably make a decent living but let's allow for a bit of dramatic licence) hosting TV shows, desperately having to scrabble for work and pitch his ideas to unenthused producers. He lives a normal middle class life in a London suburb, in a decent-sized house which he presumably bought back in his glory days.

His former partner Karl (Tim McInnery, who actually was in Blackadder 2 & 4) is now a major star, living in a mansion, and a knight.

I'm sure some reviewers likened them to Fry and Laurie, which could be added to the article. I've no idea whether this was coincidental or deliberate.Paulturtle (talk) 23:37, 2 July 2020 (UTC) (Robbie Coltrane of course did a minor part as Dr Johnson in Blackadder 3, but that doesn't alter my main point).Paulturtle (talk) 00:03, 6 July 2020 (UTC))[reply]
