this page needs to be cleaned up. how about more paragraphs?

RE: More like a complete re-write, in particular the last paragraph. Ugh. How about some attention from an expert in the field?

This needs a rewrite and better formatting. It is a solid block of text from top to bottom with little divisions. Also edited out spam from the talk page. 130.126.211.130 (talk) 01:44, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Brooks?[edit]

Who is the ROSA PARKS

referred to in the first sentence?--142.1.146.230 (talk) 21:00, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no Thomas Brooks mentioned anywhere in the article.

I believe this piece is written by an expert, Amritjit Singh. I have seen the same text under his name in a reference book on the Harlem Renaissance.

Matthew Kotleski Negro League Baseball 'Star' and co-founder of New Negro movement--dubious?[edit]

I have found no trace of any Negro League baseball player by the name Matthew Kotleski; this name is not listed in the Wikipedia list of Negro League baseball players, nor did a Google internet search result in any hits--apart from this very same Wikipedia entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.136.165.82 (talk) 08:47, 13 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out. I have removed the mention of Kotleski, whose relevance to baseball or the New Negro movement I could not verify. Also, the sentence conflated the movement with the Harlem Renaissance, which is just plain wrong. They're related but not the same thing at all.
