Rewrite[edit]

This article needs a rewrite. The Hoffman part of the story is about 70% of the page. The article should cover more on the Oath itself, its printing history, significance, etc. Hoffman's part should be at most a minor note. Afabbro 19:52, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It used to be all about the Hoffman forgery. Your right, though, it should be expanded considerably.--Cúchullain t/c 21:55, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I added more information about the Oath and more detail about the Hofmann affair, changing the heading and clarifying that the "discovery" was actually a forgery. In reality, the entire Hofmann section in this article should be a short one-paragraph summary--mostly so that any researchers are aware that any printed copies of the Oath found are likely to be Hofmann forgeries--and any detail can be placed in other articles where it is more relevant.Bhugh (talk) 06:45, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is a new and growing Freeman movement in the US/UK.

This oath should be expanded to included all details and historical origins of the oath itself in order to facilitate understanding both of the freeman movement and the freeman movement's understanding of itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.100.19.2 (talk) 18:17, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
