Does anyone else feel like the Cuttlefish of Cthulu should get it's own article? If nothing else, we should subdivide this article and make a section on the history and importance of the cuttlefish. Thoughts? --Evanrocks88 03:41, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it needs its own article. Cdwillis 22:41, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"His only true companion is his Cuttle fish, though lost for a short period it has returned to its true resting place."

Whoever wrote that sentence should not be editing Wikipedia, as that is poor grammar. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.16.115.149 (talk) 18:37, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't it be noted that he sang on Strapping Young Lad's latest Album (The New Black) on Far Beyond Metal? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Virus of Profanity (talkcontribs) 10:13, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Create a New Article for Dave?

[edit]

Dave Brockie passed away three days ago. IMO, his memory and the wiki community would be well served by a separate article; alternatively renaming this artile to Dave Brockie and redirecting Oderus here if we were to keep one article.
Reasons:
1. Dave was a human being; a musician and actor who played a character.
2. Dave's influence on music was substantial and extended beyond talk show appearances made as Oderus
What does the community think? Id be happy to help with such a project, esp by compiling RS. Please note that due to his recent death, there has been a huge outpouring of high profile obituary articles that serve to obfuscate articles focusing on his impact on music written during his life. Waiting a little bit for things to calm down might make comprehensive research easier. However, I won't do it if consensus says we shouldnt. All feedback is appreciated! Agreed. Have made structural changes to this page to be more focused on Dave the person, with the intention of changing the name as soon as I have rights. Figured a new page could be made for Oderus, but maybe that's reinventing the wheel?

I think the move makes sense but I would discourage making an additional page about the character at the current time and just leave it as a redirect which in general the move. Not that without admin rights this move will not be allowed because of Dave Brockie already exists as a wikipage, although just a redirect to this page. You can request a move from an admin at anytime I am pretty sure. XFEM Skier (talk) 16:27, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Change Title Back To Oderus Urungus

[edit]

it was fine when it was oderus urungus — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.19.71.229 (talk) 15:59, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Correct Title

[edit]

Before people keep moving the page back and forth maybe we should have a discussion about what is correct. I thought this had been done once before for this page but I don't see it on the talk page. Maybe it got lost in a move. The article is currently phrased to be about the person and not the character so it would make sense that the article title is the person. There are lots of sources that are cited here that are about David and not about Oderus Urungus. I think the article should be kept at David Brockie with a major section dedicated to Oderus Urungus and a redirect to this article from Oderus Urungus. BLP vios by anon IP

[edit]

2607:FB90:24A3:6364:0:31:C882:2C01, an apparent sock of blocked user Optim.usprime and his now-blocked block-evading IP 74.88.32.47, is edit-warring over WP:BLP violations — in which, despite repeated requests, he will not cannot provide any citing whatsoever for claims involving two living people of the dead article subject. I have warned him on his talk page. I had previously asked for page protection, but there seems to be a backlog.--Tenebrae (talk) 23:01, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 3 March 2016

[edit]

Dave Brockie's Musical work with the X-Cops, and the Dave Brockie experience is excluded form his discography, along with various minor Gwar releases. also, Dave's personal blog "gwar, me and the oncrushing grip of death" would serve as a good citation for his biography.

X-cops:

You Have the Right to Remain Silent (1995) Junkie (ep)(1996)

Dave Brockie Experience:

Songs for the Wrong (2003) Diarrhea of a Madman (2001)
