One Person, Two Roles → Yat yan fan sik leung gok – This title (一人分饰两角) may have been translated into "One Person, Two Roles" by fans and the 2009 article (which must have used Wikipedia as a translator), but there are no other sources translating it very accurately into other titles. 'yat yan' (一人) means "one person"; 'fan sik' (分饰) could mean "playing", "impersonating", or something like that; 'leung gok' (两角) means "two roles". Nevertheless, the current title is omitting translation of 'fan sik'. George Ho (talk) 06:07, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Added 2 Chinese sources, cannot find a hint in English. Old or not, I personally am not rushing to support a move to a romanized title that doesn't exist in printed sources, when there are several competing romanization systems for Cantonese, which fails WP:NAMINGCRITERIA #1 and 2. The avoidance of parenthetical assistance (in this case assistance rather than disambiguation). Of course the English title here is invented as well. But at least the invented English title doesn't have the lack of WP:CANTONESE guidance for how to spell "One person, two roles". In ictu oculi (talk) 01:53, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Support as proposed George is right, I am wrong. Even with confusion between Jyutping and Yale (the proposal is Yale) no reason why Cantonese shouldn't be treated as Mandarin or Japanese when no English title exists. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:32, 22 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Even though MOS:ALBUM supports the nomination, I don't think that is a great policy, and would prefer One Person Playing Two Roles as an unmistakable direct translation and per the English cover version. – Fayenatic London 19:15, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Firstly, this proposal doesn't even remotely fit the policy of being recognizable to readers. Secondly, the naming convention at Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Album article style guide (aka MOS:ALBUM) is being taken out of context. The style guide starts It is intended only as a guide, to assist in writing well-developed articles. The section Naming does state Translations of titles in languages other than English should not be used as titles unless such a translation is commonly used as a title for the album in the English-speaking world, but also links to Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) which of course reads The title of an article should generally use the version of the name of the subject which is most common in the English language.... I think the style guide should be clarified, but what I think it's trying to say is that if English sources use a translation, we should use it.
