Multiple dubious claims by possibly related accounts[edit]

On checking some of the sources for this article I was disappointed to find that a significant number were either authored by the subject, or did not mention the claims that they were ostensibly supporting. Other claims of "leading" or "contributing" to initiatives were unsourced. Almost all the edits have been made by three accounts: @Hepicbla:, @Paulryr:, and @81.36.138.124:. As far as I can see these three have edited only this article, plus in Paulryr's case the related Avalanche (P2P) page and several commons images claiming to be of Pablo Rodriguez. I appreciate that this may be the result of over-enthusiasm by people who did not understand our policies, so I don't want to initiate a sockpuppet investigation without offering an opportunity for these three accounts to explain how they are related and clean up the article as soon as possible. - Pointillist (talk) 22:57, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Claims to have established the Telefonica Research organization[1] Clearly states that the center was Telefonica I+D by his then boss Carlos Domingo. He claims to lead Telefonica's Innovation effort, but he is only the R&D director for the Barcelona lab. Claim to be an entrepreneur is also dubious, since there are no sources listed to establish he even worked for Inktomi or Tahoe Networks, and even if he did, just working for a startup doesn't make you an entrepreneur. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.220.196.243 (talk) 14:46, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Telefonica Research is a division within Telefonica R&D focused more on scientific research, so this claim does not seem to be a contradiction. he also seems to be not just the head of the barcelona lab but also the research and product innovation director at Telefonica, so this does not seem to be a dubious claim either (there is a new reference). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.235.92.26 (talk) 11:47, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cited source contradicts claim[edit]

The claim that "In 2006 he established the Telefonica Research organization.<ref>[http://www.tid.es/en/Acercade/Pages/TIDInternetAcercadeGoverningCV.aspx?cv=CVPabloRodriguez Telefonica R&D Governing Bodies]</ref>" is contradicted by the source website which says "Telefónica I+D, the research and development company of the Telefónica Group, is founded in 1988", when Rodriguez was 15 or 16 years of age. I'm therefore going to restore the inline {{Failed verification}} notice that was removed by 81.35.131.198 on 17 November 2013. - Pointillist (talk) 22:33, 1 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

comment: the claim is not to have founded Telefonica R&D, which is a 25 year old organization, but to have established the Research Scientific teams within Telefonica R&D, which is now clarified and reflected in the updated citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.49.6.236 (talk) 13:01, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am going through the citations and updating the article according. Rewording to clarify the claims made and what the sources actually say. Also removing some of the sources that should not be used and introducing more reliable sources. --EFSPPC (talk) 21:16, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
