Etymology[edit]

What has the Greek prefix tri- (that has to be written with a hyphen) to do with a Latin compound tricuspidata? Is this specifically mentioned by the source in giving the etymology of tricuspidata? Wimpus (talk) 22:31, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is not listed as specifically Latin or Greek in the source. I provided the fact that it can be both simply because that's my standard practice when sources don't provide for the path a term like "tri-" which can come from Greek or Latin. If there is confidence in the fact that, in this case, it is coming through Latin I have no issue with removing the mention of Greek.
