Essay tag[edit]

I hate drive-by taggers so just a quick word on why I tagged this. It reads, to me, like someone's own essay or blog piece about the player. There's nothing wrong with that but I don't think the place for it is an encyclopaedia. Phrases like "but not before the legendary curtain raiser to the 93-94 season" and "a thrilling performance" sound like a personal opinion, not a factual piece about the player. It would be good if the article could lose a lot of this - or, if it is quotable comment from a verifiable and authoritative source, quote it and reference it. I'm sorry, I hate to rain on anyone's parade as I can see a lot of writing has been done here, but it's really not right if it sounds so much like a personal article.
