Merge proposal[edit]

It seems reasonable to merge the genus and a page describing the common use of the term as the same subject is being described. Klbrain (talk) 06:53, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, common name refers to several unrelated species. Sabine's Sunbird talk 06:56, 4 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: It makes no sense to merge a single genus into this article, given that four genera in three different families are involved! MeegsC (talk) 16:42, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Obvious oppose - not sure of how this came about - the page clearly says it is a name used for several genera. I have tried to make the lead clearer. Shyamal (talk) 06:15, 28 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support The unrelated species used to be part of the genus. Which means the article for the genus needs to include information about the unrelated species, to inform people who are looking for information on the old definition. Which means both articles are virtually identical, so it's silly not to merge them. - 68.207.248.247 (talk) 21:37, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
