Allotropes?[edit]

Is this the way the word "allotrope" is used in materials science? Chemists usually reserve it for pure elements--carbon has allotropes, silicon has allotropes, but silicon carbide has polymorphs. --Itub (talk) 02:04, 17 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ordering?[edit]

It is absolutely not clear from this page whether Si and C are ordered or distributed randomly over the lattice sites. I believe they are ordered, but it would be nice to explain this in more details. 12.104.156.31 (talk) 22:17, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merging query[edit]

Is there any reason this isn't just listed as a new section under the Silicon Carbide page? It's not obvious to the reader that this page exists from that other page, and I think this information is most likely critical if one is interested in it, but most people would be unaware of its existence.
