Initial copyedit[edit]

Thanks User:Sebjarod for this. I have given it a run over for better English and want you to see that I have not mystified everything. There are still some comments I am not sure about but whose English in not correct. I removed some duplicate sentences about identifying the Guam use - you really only need to ay it once. You references need a good bit of work and I will point you to the correct way to do them. Check out this page for the correct citation tags that you should be using. If you look at Postage stamps of Ireland you will see their correct usage on some of the references. Also I was able to find an image and maybe you have more, especially for each topic. Thanks for all the correction. Unless you point me some sentences, as far as my English can go, the text doesn't lose significance. But, for the sourcing (anglo-saxon style + en.wiki templates), I was quickly fed up... sorry. Sebjarod 08:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will get back here with some specifics. Also I will try to do the references but I don't think it is an Anglo-Saxon thing - you just fill in as much of the data as you have for each reference. You will likely have to fill in some of the missing data from your reference books after I do an initial cleanup. Again thanks. ww2censor 15:13, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is not necessary to re-quote a source that is already used in the notes, so I will go through it again and see if I can remove those and tidy up the references, but you have already started to do that. Good job. The 5 Yvert page references should really be inserted as inline refs. I will do it if you let me know where they should go. Basically at the end of the last sentence in which you use them, or maybe twice if separated by too much text. You are getting the hangof it ok. Thanks again. Spain did not sell Guam to the United States[edit]

Spain did not sell Guam to the United States (the article says: Spain agreed by the treaty of Paris to sell the island of Guam) but had to cede it as agreed in the Treaty of Paris. What Spain did sell are the Mariana Islands (except Guam), Carolinas and Palau to Germany for 17 million marks in 1899.--Enya003 (talk) 07:30, 26 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
