Untitled[edit]

If my memory is correct, Priness Margaretha performed one official duty every year, attending and I think opening a Chritmas fair in aid of charity in London. I am sorry to hear she is separated. Any evidence of this? Is Mr Ambler the former Vice-President of Texaco?

Dame?[edit]

Under honors, where do we get Dame of in "Dame of the Royal Family Order of King Gustaf VI Adolf", etc.?--SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:26, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

An IP rm the source tag and commented "women who have a royal family order are Dames of the order, such as: Dame of the order of Victoria&Albert." That may be British standard, but not applicable in this case. The award is Swedish, the princess in Swedish, "Dame" is not Swedish. I'd still like to see a source. Restored. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 11:19, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Same again, reverted again & wrote to IPs. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 13:50, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Late reply. No women cannot be "Dames" of Royal Family Orders no matter what country. The fact that there are no male knights means that there is also no female counterpart. The word member would be more appropriate although still unnecessary wording. Royal Family Orders are given based on family connections and no list of members is kept.--Hipposcrashed (talk) 17:45, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you, of course, but I do think they keep a list of recipients, which however should not be called members. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 21:34, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
PS I see there is no Swedish equivalent article for Royal Family Orders. Are they even called ordnar in Sweden? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 21:36, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
