ირაკლი, ენციკლოპედიაში მოსაზრებებს არ ვამატებთ და არც ეს სურათია საენციკოპედიო და რელევანტური. Jaqeli 20:28, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Consonant Table is Self-Contradictory[edit]

The consonant table disagrees with itself in regard to place of articulation of coronal consonants. Specifically:

Every sound under the heading "Dental" has IPA for alveolar consonants.

Every sound under the heading "Denti-alveolar" has IPA for retroflex consonants.

Every sound under the heading "Alveolar", "Central" is post alveolar, except for [r] (which is sort of technically alveolar, but very well may be post-alveolar) and [j] (which is dorso-palatal, but still argually related).

Someone who has access to the "Gamkrelidze (1966) p. 70" and "Fähnrich (2002) p. 5" that the table cites, or some other reliable source, ought to figure out what was intended. (If it turns out that there's a legitimate disagreement about the reconstruction, it ought to be discussed in the article rather than just left as a confusing self-contradictory table.)

I agree with the IP user comment above. There is a problem here. I checked Gamkrelidze (1966), which is available online at https://www.jstor.org/stable/411601. It indeed contradicts what is presented in the article. I do not have access to the second source, but this should be addressed. Renerpho (talk) 15:36, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
