This article needs to be verified I too, thought it closed after 1977. I remember going there with my younger brother who would've been far too young at that time. Incidentally, when we visited (probably early 80s) it was still revolving (I remember waiting for our table to line up with the (stationary) toilets on the central column ... the waitress must have loved us!!!) Was it because the bearings siezed that it stopped revolving or was it because it was unoccupied??? Also, is the height 133m or (as stated in one of the external links) 120.1m ????? Yeh I always heard that is got stuck, not the second floor was too heavy, and that is why it doesn't rotate anymore. It might just not need to rotate Sweetie candykim (talk) 14:30, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There reads: The outdoor observation deck which had been located on the roof of the restaurant was transformed into a second floor; this now holds offices and conference rooms for the radio station. The studios are on the lower floor that used to be the restaurant. and The Tower is open to the public everyday.

Height[edit]

On this list List of tallest buildings and structures in Liverpool it is second, and it says it has a height of 120m, but not in the article. Which is right? Sweetie candykim (talk) 14:32, 10 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article is now consistent with the list referenced in the previous comment (2nd tallest / 125m), and this is backed up by a reference. Suggest this talk be archived? Drummle (talk) 11:50, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Origins[edit]

The article doesn't explain why this bizarre and arguably pointless structure was built in the middle of Liverpool in the first place. The GPO/MOD 'Backbone' microwave network was being built at about the same time, with several city centre comms towers - is there some connection with this? --Ef80 (talk) 19:06, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Originally planned as chimney?[edit]
