What was the fix?

The article describes the problem--LoX and fuel venting, combined with a flimsy cover over the umbilical connection. But it doesn't say what the fix was (apparently it was not to do s.t. other than vent at booster separation, because that is said to have been observed. 'Quite accurate'?

"The flight trajectory for Ranger 7 was quite accurate, but a short midcourse correction was carried out early on the morning of July 29 to ensure impact in the Sea of Storms instead of the far side of the Moon" - if it needed a correction to hit the correct side of the Moon, how was that "quite accurate"?
