Citations from Testimony[edit]

This article assumes the truth of Volkov's "memoir" Testimony, such as where it claims that Shostakovich's Tenth Symphony was entirely a reaction to Stalin's death. There is much evidence that that book was fabricated, so it should at least be mentioned in the article. Eclecticperson34 (talk) 00:05, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly it would help this article if citations from Volkov's book - which at present is the only source cited - were supplemented or balanced by citations from other sources. Elizabeth Wilson's Shostakovich: A Life Remembered and, dare I suggest, Laurel Fay's Shostakovich: A Life would be good starting points. Alfietucker (talk) 01:26, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
