Railway Station?

[edit]

I know it's probably the best stub category, but obviously the terminal isn't a station?

Shunter

[edit]
Does anybody know what the shunter is (ie class)

--Greenfinch100 16:14, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I asked this one myself... To a small enthusiast community ... I was informed it was a BR Quarry Shunter. I can't find that on Wikipedia though. If you have a picture, It'd make it a lot easier - description is hard.

I would say that it is an ex-BR shunter which was brought off the owners of a quarry. Try looking at British Rail Class 08, British Rail Class 09 to see if they look familiar - think it is most likely one of these. Also, do you know if Moor Street Goods is actually used anymore? I read it is but aerial photgraphs and Google Earth show the place seemingly abandoned.

I've been reading around and though I haven't found any pictures, I would assume it's one of the new batch of class 01/5 locomotives used by BR in industrial yards, which that is. Not sure about that though.

As for Moor Street, it was a big EWS terminal at one point - It would appear that it is indeed shut now, but there is a lot of ballast left behind.
