Vandalism[edit]

People are able to vandalize Panic! at the Disco's page as well, this isn't fair! I want Ryan's page to stay here, it helps people learn about the individual not just the band and sometimes people want to know more about the person not the band Panic's page wouldn't be able to give all possible information about all the members which is why I think they should each have their own page. Please! Today is my birthday let's just have this be my birthday present and leave the members individual pages alone :[ LoserKidEmx3 12:05, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The worst error one can make on a wikipedia biography article (almost) is to display a picture of someone other than the person who is being described. In this case, the person in the primary picture is fall out boy bassist/lyricist/back-up vocalist Pete Wentz and NOT Ryan Ross. This must be immediately corrected as most people trust wikipedia and use it as their main reference/encyclopedic source. He is dating a girl named haley and the relationship has lasted for about 6 months now. He is also dating a girl named haley and they have been in a relationship for 6 months now.

Photo Questions[edit]

Can't we get a better picture or something? There are actually like...pictures from photo shoots available. This one is blurry, dark, and Ryan isn't even looking at the camera. Danner578 04:56, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Per WP:C & WP:FU currently "photo shoot" or "promotional" images are prohibited when a 100% free alternative is available.Hackajar 05:08, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How could you take out that photo?! That was by far the best natural picture of Ryan. If you can't use that one because of "copyright issues," then you could at least find a decent one. A decent photo is better than no photo. I'd recommend some of the ones from Panic!'s official site, or one from their purevolume site, [1]. I have some really good photos, but I don't know how to put a picture on the page, so if you could leave me the instruction on my talk page, [[2]]. Please leave me the instructions. I'll take care of the photo business. Thanks!!--P!@tD Girly! 03:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so this is happening with all the members of this band. None of them have photos! Can none of us find a decent photo that we're allowed to use? What's going on?--P!@tD Girly! 01:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, two of my photos were deleted, though only one had a copyright on it. Jazzline b! (talk) 20:05, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can't put on any pictures because the page is protected. Only admin can change it.

Can someone PLEASE contact an administrator or something, Ryan really needs to have his picture on here! He's adorable, it's a shame that people who look at the wikipedia page about him don't get to see that... :( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.228.29.240 (talk) 01:40, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I took a picture Friday night. He's not looking at the camera, but it's something. I can probably take one from one of the videos I took, but this is better than nothing. ~DoubleAW[c] 19:43, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PLEASE can someone change his photo !? I mean he is not even looking ! And hes doing a weird ( yet kinda funny ) thing with his hands... PLEASE somenone change the photo! There are millions of better photos all over the internet! even though no matter how bad the photo is he still looks good.. Please change the photo someone!

Guitar Info??[edit]

Shouldn't we know what kind of guitars he has? i'm pretty sure he played a Gibson ES model at the VMAs.

  • Find a Secondary source for this, reference source, and it can be included per policy. There are lots of band member pages that speak of their instrument preferences Hackajar 12:43, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He has used a Gibson Firebird too. [3] Myke251 14:19, 17 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

He also has a Gibson Les Paul, hes got two of those i think acctually. hes got a lot of gibsons um i don't know the names of guitars and what nots, but he always has like the large yellow one thats like super awesome, he always has it in liver performances and in the video for but its better if you do-erin

I can't edit the page myself, as I haven't got an account, but could someone please remove the last line of "Early life" that describes Ryan as the "sweetest guy on the planet"? Thanks. 24.201.233.33 18:18, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done Redspark09 19:26, 3 December 2006 (UT

Ryan most often plays an arch top Gretchen's G6118T-120 and sometimes a firebird, but I can't remember the model. This might be important to state in the article

He changes his guitar, so technically, we shouldn't.....

i've seen Ryan play a les paul in some video performances too. but i don't know much else about the guitar besides that.

My dad says the guitar he plays a lot is a Gretchen's Semi-Hollowbody, but I don't know what model. Sorry! hahahaha soz i think dats funny (becci)

Just a question...[edit]

I'm an avid fan of Ryan, so I'm curious about this. Currently, at the end of the article, it says Ryan is "currently taking piano, guitar, and voice lessons." I understand piano and voice lessons, since he doesn't do either in the band, but guitar lessons? He plays guitar in the band! I mean, I know there's always room for improvement, but is this true? Once again, I'm just curious. Thanks! :) Ryan is talking piano, guitar, and voice lessons. He was asked about it in an interview and he said that he was.

Actually Ryan is also back up vocals but there are few songs in which he has to do so.

he does back-up vocals in live performances, as well as some key-board when live. also, all of the guitar parts on the album are relatively simple, hinting that maybe he isn't the greatest guitar player. plus, what would it hurt to get a little better.

I heard that currently, he is taking lessons from Frak Sinatra's voice coach. Which must be why his live singing has suddenly improved so much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.111.15.73 (talk) 00:01, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Ryan's Dad[edit]

Ryan Ross's dad died JULY 28, 2006, not JUNE 28, 2006. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Anna is Awesome (talkcontribs) 04:43, 22 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Yes,I know,I was the first person who added the information that he died on July 28,then someone changed it to June, but for some reason I can't edit the articleXpoisonedxlovex 19:14, 2 April 2007 (UTC)Xpoisonedxlovex[reply]

Yea whoever said it was in JUNE obviously did not real the Rolling Stone Article which says...

"Last July,His Father Died In His Sleep at the age of sixty. Panic were en route from Vancouver to Seattle on there bus when Ross herd the news. "I Could almost feel that it was going top happen, because of the way he would treat himself" he says. "I got a phone call, and i knew right away what the police officer was going to tell me"........" so yea...pick up a rolling stone, lol. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.244.31.4 (talk) 05:49, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, along these lines, someone please go fix the part that says he wrote two songs on the album about his dad's death. The album came out almost a year before his dad died. I would, but I don't have an account and that's really bugging me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.74.228.254 (talk) 17:30, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Infinity on High?[edit]

Ryan did a guitar solo on infinity on high should that be in here or is it not really that important?

yes, that is important.

seconded. VERY JazzlineB (talk) 16:09, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thats very important.i was trying to figure that out for weeks actualy....

Ryan Ross was in the song : The Take Over The Breaks Over *** in Infinity on High ----ruchika55 (inlove with ryry) lol

picture...?[edit]

a picture would be good.... theres this one on buzznet thats floating around alot... and its a good picture... its the one where he has "Robert smith"-esque and is looking quite androgynous. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by mell (talk) 04:06, 30 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

who the f*** wrote this?
Ryan did NOT go to school with Spencer. their dads worked at the same hotel and they used to play with each other. .
i think the infinity on high solo should be on this.
tbh.
why don't you just let a real fan write this?
yeah.Ryan went to a private school and Spencer went to a public school i belive.
ryan did go to school with spencer until spencer swtiched schools.
They always change the picture and now they have no picture. I am pretty annoyed.
they technically went to the same school for two years, but they were in different grades. then spencer switched schools. but they met through ryan's grandfather and spencer's dad.
Ryan and Spencer:
First of all, Ryan and Spencer have been friends since they were really little. They didn't meet at High School. So who ever wrote this article, they need to know the REAL story! Ok? Good!
And, Ryan's dad died on July 28, 2006. not June 28 dipweed..

Okay, this article needs HELP. it has no picture and gets vandalized all the time. any ideas on how this can actually become a DECENT article? thanks. --P!@tD Girly! 02:29, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

actually, i met ryan once and asked if he had a girlfriend he said "not at the moment" and laughed, (April '07). he also said he wasn't interested, but that's beside the point.

How Come?[edit]

19 May 2007 22:27BST

How come in the main article, it says that Ryan Ross was born on August 30 1992, and the bit under the picture says he was born on August 30 1986?

Shouldn't these two match?

yeah, he was born in 86... looks like vandalism, maybe someone hoping he wasn't so much older than they were

Why is this there?[edit]

19 May 2007 22:53 EST

In the 'Early Beginnings...' paragraph, why does it say 'and He was Support By His Friend Sweet Blood Stacy now he write her lyrics . . . . '
Either someone edit that sentence or delete it. I really don't think that there was ANY news at all about this and if there was there should be a reference link about it.

Yeah that was really bugging me someone completely vandalised it. Knight Whitefire 06:25, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i believe he was born in 87 not 86...could be wrong but thats what most of the fan pages say —Preceding unsigned comment added by Panicpirate (talkcontribs) 20:11, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They're wrong... he was definitely born in 86. I was born in 88 - last year he turned 21, and I turned 19, so 86 is correct. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.25.78.45 (talk) 15:44, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Ross's little brother?[edit]

Does Ryan have a little brother named corey? I saw a picture of him on some girls photo Ryan doesn't have a little brother, he has 2 stepsisters from his mothers second marriage however, he doesn't have a relationship with his mother so he's not close to them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.91.99.250 (talk) 01:59, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Early Life[edit]

This section is a grammatical and syntactical dog's breakfast. I don't know the subject matter well enough to do a rewrite, but it needs a firm editor's hand. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.184.211 (talk) 06:44, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's highly unlikely the Ryan's mother was wandering around with two daughters that aren't biologically hers, therefore the two "stepsisters" mentioned would have to be half-sisters. Same mother, different father.

Lock-out[edit]

WTF! It's pretty hard to correct spelling grammar (such as verb agreement - they don't) or awkward phrasing etc. or ADD REFERENCES REQUESTED since it is locked UP. Would the people who have locked it up fucking do this, or unlock the chastity belt it so that those with the inclination can have at him?

it was locked out temporary because of recent vandalism problems it should be restored soon. be patient. Evenios (talk) 08:33, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan Ross: part 2[edit]

The world would be a more arid, barren place if ambitious guitarist Ryan Ross had not risen up from the suburban Las Vegas, Nevada, desert with a vision. Ryan saw a life beyond playing Blink-182 covers. He persuaded his high-school friend Brendon Urie to step up to the microphone and assume the primary singing duties for the band that would become Panic! at the Disco. Ryan's creation has been in existence only since 2005. Just wait until they have a few years' momentum.

Ryan Ross is a legal affairs writer based in Denver. He has been published in the Washington Post, the National Law Journal, the ABA Journal and Legal Times, among other publications, and has twice appeared as an expert on "Nightline." He can be reached by email at Mtnry@aol.com.

Very unbalanced[edit]

The "biography" spends a little time on the pre-Panic days, a lot of time on The Young Veins, and none about his time actually with Panic. This seems completely opposite to how it should be: he is most known for Panic so the biography should spend the most attention on his time with Panic. Would someone knowledgeable about this period (I'm not) like to fix, please? —David Eppstein (talk) 16:36, 18 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this! I was just passing by his page and had to put something about that. No one really knows about The Young Veins and there's no heading with Panic! At The Disco in it. The fact that he's not in it anymore doesn't matter, because Panic is still his career up into this point since The Young Veins haven't gone anywhere yet.--Trenton Davis (talk) 01:57, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Section Phrasing Issue[edit]

I'm not sure about precedent, but to me, "Early music beginnings" is redundant. It could be improved if it were written as "Music beginnings" or "Musical beginnings". Just a thought. Ryan O'Shea (talk) 12:33, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Requests 1.3.15[edit]

Below are a list of edits to be made; I am unable to do so as of now:

  • "With much success and touring of their debut album, the band went back into the studio on October 2007 to record what was come to be the bands's second studio album, Pretty. Odd., which was released on March 25, 2008. The sound greatly differed to the band's debut album"
  1. You should change: "What was come to be the band's second studio album..." to "What has come to be the band's second studio album..."
  1. I'd suggest clarifying (can't hurt) what their debut album was: "With much success and touring of their debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out"
  1. Also, I'd suggest replacing the "." at the end of the first sentence ("With much success...March 25, 2008.") with a semicolon. Thus connecting the first sentence with the second, rather short, and somewhat supplementary sentence ("The sound greatly differed to band's debut album.")
  • "This is the last studio album Ross has contributed with Panic! at the Disco, until he was created for writing on Panic! at the Disco's third studio album, Vices & Virtues"
  1. I'd suggest adding the word "to" in between "...has contributed" and "with Panic! at the Disco..."
  1. This is just a simple error; it says: "he was created for writing" instead of "he was credited for writing"
  • "They teamed up with Brent Wilson and another boy named Trevor on guitar to make "Summer League" before they met Brendon Urie and formed Panic! at the Disco."
  1. You should change "...another boy named Trevor..." to "Trevor Howell"

→ It actually says the sentence I'm suggesting you write on the "Spencer Smith (musician)" Wikipedia page

Dead End Kids' Club?[edit]

It should state somewhere that Ryan is apart of the musical group of the Dead End Kids' Club, with Z Berg and others. It should talk about how he is currently on tour with them, and how he hinted in an interview with Frank Gioia that he is making new music that we can expect in the near future. I just feel that this page is incomplete in light of Ryan's recent events and achievements.FandomPhan (talk) 01:16, 8 October 2019 (UTC)FandomPhan[reply]

As well as the 2019 tour, he was most recently performing with Phantom Planet, Darren Criss, and Z Berg in September of 2022.
