Birthplace[edit]

I know Sam Wilson is a Virginia native, but does anyone know his birthplace? Thanks.MarmadukePercy (talk) 13:41, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

General Sam's birthplace is Rice, Virginia; info on page is first- and second-hand info; I am original author of page, Gen. Sam was mentor and teacher, he has reviewed the page, and my understanding is he has had it edited for accuracy. Not sure how to do a citation for first-person information...? 76.90.185.40 (talk) 01:34, 6 October 2008 (UTC)PM[reply]

Thank you for letting me know. I have mutual friends with General Sam, also, and was curious as to where he was born. He is certainly an interesting man. I will insert the Rice info. Regards,MarmadukePercy (talk) 01:40, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth[edit]

I notice that an anonymous IP just changed the date of birth of General Sam from 1924 to 1923. On the 'net, I see some sources saying he was born 23 September 1923. (These sources are not what I would consider definitive though.) I will try to doublecheck this with friends. In the meantime, if anyone has a source from the 'net that they can cite, it would be most welcome. MarmadukePercy (talk) 22:20, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have added his exact date of birth. MarmadukePercy (talk) 06:11, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
