Category removal[edit]

All the catgories I removed don't belong here. This article is about the proposed team. Atlantic Schooners is about the CFL team that never played and that is where all the categories belong....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 12:56, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your edits. I think eventually this page should be renamed but at this point its probably best to wait until the project is dead or a CFL team is officially awarded. BLAIXX 13:29, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Merge[edit]

Not really sure separate articles are warranted for this and the previous Atlantic Schooners attempt. If this new organization succeeds, the previous attempt would still be relevant to it as backstory and the current Schooners article is pretty much all that could ever be said about that backstory. Even if this effort fails, the use of the same name for the proposed team seems to me to indicate that this is seen as a continuation of that previous bid anyway. Thoughts? --Khajidha (talk) 18:16, 22 February 2020 (UTC) PS-Note that we do not have a separate article for previous bids for Charlotte, NC, to get an MLS team, but cover that in the background of the recently announced future team. --Khajidha (talk) 18:20, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The old Schooners existed almost 40 years ago and are only related to the "current" team because they have the same name. The old team has enough content for its own article and it is independently notable. If the current team ever sees the field, I would recommend moving this article to Atlantic Schooners and moving the old team to Atlantic Schooners (1982). BLAIXX 20:07, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Blaixx entirely. And the Charlotte MLS team does link to two other Charlotte franchises and otherwise just mentions unsuccessful bids. The original Atlantic Schooners was an actual expansion franchise that was granted (one entity) and Schooner Sports and Entertainment is its own entity.
