Notability[edit]

Shankar Puntambekar is notable author of Hindi literature for the following reasons:

1.Anupama Prabhune wrote a thesis for PhD from Pune University on Puntambekar's contribution to satire in Hindi language.

2.His name and biography appears in a University level text book on authors in Hindi language.^[2]
3.One of his novel was turned into play per a news item in The Hindu, a highly respected newspaper in India.^[3]
4. He was interviewed by a journalist for Maharashtra times, one of the most respected and popular newspaper in Marathi^[4]
5.His death by natural causes was a newsworthy item reported by United News of India news agency.^[5]^[6]
