What's next? A one-month or one-week pay-per-view channel that tributes to Star Wars or Star Trek? --George Ho (talk) 22:20, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If it was to celebrate an anniversary then it would be perfectly feasible to consider it. Perhaps what we'd do in that instance is rename this one and add the information for the other channels. As I said in the DYK nomination, there are plenty of channels dedicated to different film genres, but this is the first time I've seen one for a particular franchise. Obviously it was launched as a tie-in with the 50th anniversary and Sky's acquisition of the screening rights for the Bond films, but I've written it neutrally and added several references, so I don't see what the problem is. Even if it is well-balanced and well-sourced, look at "...on Twitter" articles, like WP:articles for deletion/Barack Obama on Twitter and WP:articles for deletion/Ashton Kutcher on Twitter (2nd nomination). --George Ho (talk) 22:04, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What point are you trying to make here? This isn't a social media article. If you mean that it should be part of something bigger, then please be clear about that. Maybe there's scope for a James Bond in media article or something like that if we don't already have it. Paul MacDermott (talk) 22:56, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Must I be clear? The topic is a one-month limited edition channel (will even HBO Star Wars HD exist yet), and I see "inheritance" as a reason to prove notability. Is it a stand-alone topic or a subtopic? If it is a subtopic of a main topic, there should be an appropiate main page. Unfortunately, List of Sky networks (not to be confused with List of channels on Sky) does not exist yet. And I'm not sure if James Bond is an appropiate page there. --George Ho (talk) 02:12, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In that scenario (i.e., HBO Star Wars HD comes into being) my own thoughts would be to start a JList of film franchise themed channels article or something a little less of a clunking title. I looked into this out of curiosity. There's James Bond in film where it could be mentioned (because that article hasn't been updated to include it). I guess we could try for James Bond in popular culture or even James Bond media. Any thoughts? If you find an appropriate article into which to slot this information you're more than welcome to propose a merger. Paul MacDermott (talk) 10:13, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How about in Sky Movies? There is already a brief mention of it and the other temporary rebrands of Sky Movies Showcase (Sky Movies Summer and Sky Movies Christmas Channel) as well as an advertising and promotion section where the Absolute Radio and Digital Spy promotions could go. If you do plan on making a franchise themed channels list, Sky Cinema in Italy also used Sky Cinema Hits as a Bond themed channel.[1][2] - Jasmeet_181 (talk) 13:21, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Sky Movies seems like the right place, but if there's enough information for a franchise themed article it is certainly worth doing. I'll look into this a bit further. Paul MacDermott (talk) 14:17, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The channel has returned again, this time indefinitely, so I've removed the merge tag. Paul MacDermott (talk) 18:54, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

End Date.[edit]

I have edited this page as the end date was wrong. The channel ends on the 5th November 2012, the last Bond movie it will be showing is 'Goldeneye' at 02:55 AM 05/11/12 (UK time).

From 6 AM on the 5th November it will show non Bond films the first being Van Helsing (2004). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.182.107.143 (talk) 02:45, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
