Steve was not struck hundreds of times, the article implies that

The stingray, straight out of eye-witness Justin Lyons' mouth: "It started stabbing wildly with its tail, hundreds of strikes within a few seconds."

Never does he say "(..)striking him several hundred times in the body with its tail spine in a few seconds". All sources are on the page already, they've just been misquoted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AtotehZ (talkcontribs) 10:53, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Robert C. Irwin

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
There is clear consensus to not merge these two articles. Anarchyte (work | talk) 10:14, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

WP:NOTINHERITED. His father is clearly notable, but it doesn't make him notable. He has done very little on his own. JDDJS (talk) 20:32, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

Oppose. He was only a toddler when his father was killed, so I don't think WP:NOTINHERITED applies here. The last two facts, (co-hosting a TV show and the The Tonight Show appearance) are enough to get notability. --Dmol (talk) 21:18, 25 March 2017 (UTC)

Robert Irwin should have his own separate page on Wikipedia- Robert may be the son of Steve Irwin, but he is still his own person who has a unique existence. He will go on to do just as amazing and maybe even different stuff from his dad, which warrants his own unique presence on the web that isn't always shadowing his dad. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.152.127.18 (talk) 17:43, 21 April 2017 (UTC)

  • Opposed This article subject meets WP:GNG by the above mentioned references for co- hosting hos own tv show and for his appearance on the Tonight Show. Outside of Notability not being inherited, this subject has received significant coverage on his own for things that he has done. There are several more references in the article that show other aspects of the subject. Merging is not appropriate in this instance. Antonioatrylia (talk) 11:13, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
Oppose Even if it is clear he has been able to use his father's fame to advance his 'career', Robert himself has gained a small amount of notability due to his television appearances (not just in the US). His credibility as a 'photographer' obviously is in question, award or no award, but his notability doesn't rely on that. Wasechun tashunka (talk) 15:01, 23 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Support. As pointed out above, this is a clear case of WP:NOTINHERITED. The article presents him as a "photographer". There is absolutely no evidence that he is notable as a "photographer". He is basically a non-notable kid barely past kindergarten age whose sole claim to fame is his father, and the disruptive behaviour by various IPs to promote him lead me to the conclusion that this is a possible autobiography. --Tataral (talk) 05:30, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
    • Comment The article presents him as a photographer only in as much as the word "photographer" is present on the page twice, and it isn't even mentioned in the body of the text. As for the unsigned IPs, they account for only 6 of the 44 edits done to the page, and only two made minor questionable additions; the bulk of content came from established editors. Wasechun tashunka (talk) 16:46, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
    • Comment User Tataral has twice cleared the content on this page. He has been warned of his behaviour. :) 87.210.99.206 (talk) 18:00, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Oppose Searching gives numerous references to Robert Irwin. The popularity arises originally because he is Steve Irwin's son, but now Robert Irwin is treated as the main subject of articles and has popularity in his own right. This discussion had already been closed, but re-opened by users who did not get their own way, including one user (Tataral) who has twice blanked the entire article page. 87.210.99.206 (talk) 18:03, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment: this discussion was already closed in favour of 'oppose', but was re-opened by involved editors who failed to follow the procedure for contesting closes. The closing explanation is as follows. 87.210.99.206 (talk) 18:10, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
This has been open for a month now and there is no consensus for such a merge. Of the four editors in the discussion, all four reject a merge, describing Irwin's notability such as, for example, his international television appearances. I can see no sensible argument for the balance of consensus in this thirty-day old discussion to be on the side of 'merge'.
As you were already told by other editors, IPs don't "close" discussions. In particular, disruptive IPs who spend most of their time trolling on editors' talk pages don't "close" discussions. --Tataral (talk) 19:10, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
The first user who undid your close was User:Bbb23 who is an admin and is uninvolved in this discussion. JDDJS (talk) 22:51, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
The close was undone by User:JDDJS, who started the merge discussion, and User:Tataral, who twice blanked all sections of the page 1 2. In particular, there was no objection to the close itself, and editors failed to describe the procedure described on WP:CLOSECHALLENGE: no attempt to make discussion on my talk page, yet alone a close appeal. 87.210.99.206 (talk) 05:16, 25 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Oppose He has starred in Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors, which resulted in a Logie Award nomination for Most Popular New Male Talent. He has co-hosted the series Wild But True, and also co-authored a book series. I think it's incorrect and unfair to say he's a "non-notable kid barely past kindergarten age whose sole claim to fame is his father". Obviously he is known for being Steve Irwin's son, but he's also known for his other work too. Melonkelon (talk) 23:47, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
  • Oppose He definitely is notable per the above. --TheSandDoctor (talk) 16:31, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Oppose Re: Robert is not "barely past kindergarten age". He was born in 2003 and therefore 14 years old this year. Like his sister Bindi, he is doing TV hosting etc. You see him in media interviews on TV etc. The citations are there. Kerry (talk) 07:57, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment on process Why is this proposed merge not mentioned on Robert Irwin (television personality) but only on Steve Irwin? See How to propose a merger. Kerry (talk) 08:04, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
The discussion above is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Steve Irwin's Great Escapes

Hello, does anyone know exactly how many episodes of Steve Irwin's Great Escapes there were? I found the link I used as reference - it was TV Guide. Fremantle Brand website also stated there were 3 episode. Two episodes were about Australia, one was about the USA. Has anyone seen the entire series in 2006 on Travel Channel to prove it? Blogorgonopsid, 31st July 2017, 17:36 (GMT)

The TV Guide source you provided had only two episodes. I've seen the whole series, there were only 2 episodes (one in Australia, one in US). Fremantle mentions a third episode because there was meant to be a third episode, but Steve tragically died before it happened. Also, in my three weeks of research editing the articles for all the missing episodes of all the Crocodile Hunter shows, I could only find existence of the two episodes, and no information at all on a supposed third. Dpm12 (talk) 22:57, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

OK then I'm sorry for changing the statement of this article, I really based it only on Fremantle website. You're right. Have a nice day. Blogorgonopsid, 3rd August 2017, 9:07 (GMT)

No, that's fine. Not really a huge deal in the grand schme of things. Same to you. Dpm12 (talk) 20:43, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
