A visit[edit]

I recently visited this village and I have to say that a lot of this is way off. First off, the village is definitely not ethnic Vietnamese. Among the dozens of signs in the village, only one is in Vietnamese (a phone company ad). Everyone I saw looked Cambodian, i.e. darker skin than Vietnamese. The brothels are closed now, apparently the influence of missionaries who have set up a school. They told me that very few westerners came to the village. There were presumably even fewer western visitors before all the media hype, so I find it hard to believe that the village was ever really a center of child prostitution, especially after reading this account. The missionaries are finishing up a second building and have obviously raised a significant amount in donations by promoting the sensationalistic version of events. The NBC video that this article cites as a source does not even mention Svay Pak, although there is one brief shot that might have been filmed in the village. 06:35, 28 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.20.107.146 (talk)

Believe it. Svay Pak has (very fortunately) changed, like much of the rest of Cambodia. But that doesn't mean it was never this way, just that the article is outdated. Paxse (talk) 12:30, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated?[edit]

"children were sold [...] which is then continually lowered until they are [...]" - which tempus are we in here? Aside obviously attempting to document a period in the early 2000's, the article lacks proper sources and comes across as highly anecdotal. I'm not sure how to flag this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.82.252.87 (talk) 12:03, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

article needs improvment[edit]

due to it being completely outdated and almost no sources are given! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.238.175.206 (talk) 09:45, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
